We all share files
and folders with our dear and near ones and the shared links will work forever
until you manually removes it. So today I’ll tell you to create ‘auto-expiry date’
for the shared links of your files or folders.
Google Drive not
shows you the option but you can simply add the ‘auto-expiry date’ for your
shared files or folders with a simple Google script which will work for gmail
and drive.
How to create expiry date for your files
in Google Drive
The file or folder
which you shared with public or either with a specific people, you can set
specific time to expire it.
1. Click here
to make a copy of Google script in your Google drive.
2. Now and
the link of your file or folder in ‘Line #3’.
3. Now put
expiry date and time of your file in ‘Line #7’ (Note: use YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM
format for date and time).
4. Now open
‘File Menu’> choose ‘Project Properties’ and change the time zone from the
drop down menu.
5. Now go
to the ‘Run menu’> choose Star and authorize the auto expiry date to run at
the specific time.
6. Now close
the Google script editing window.
That’s it, you have
done. Now your files will expire after the given period by you.
