Various uses of F1-F12

We all uses windows computers for long time but many of us aware of different 
uses of function keys on the keyboards, so today I’ll explain all the uses of F1-F12.






Uses of F1:
·        F1 key will load ‘Help’ file of any programs.
·        F1 will help you to enter ‘BIOS’ (press F1 key when your PC is about to boot)



Uses of F2:
·        F2 key will help you to rename the chosen file or folder.
·        ALT + Ctrl + F2 > opens document as Microsoft Word.
·        Ctrl + F2 > opens the preview window of Microsoft Word.
·        F2 will help you frequently to enter the BIOS.



Uses of F3:
·        F3 key will help you to search anything on the Desktop.
·        Win + F3 > opens search window in Microsoft Outlook.
·        Shift + F3 > will change the contents in the Microsoft Word, (from upper to lower case.)
·        F3 to rehash the last summon.



Uses of F4:
·        Press F4 in Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer will opens the location bar.
·        F4 will help to rehash the last activity in Microsoft Word.
·        ALT + F4 will closes the system.
·        Ctrl + F4 will close the present opened window.



Uses of F5:
·        Refresh the present page or window (works in all programs.)
·        Running a slide demonstrate in Microsoft PowerPoint.



Uses of F6:
·        F6 will move the cursor in the location bar.
·        Ctrl + Shift + F6 > opens document in MS Word.



Uses of F7:
·        F7 key is mostly used for spelling and grammar in document programs like MS Word, MS Outlook, etc.



Uses of F8:
·        Pressing F8 key while PC is about to boot will result booting into safe mode



Uses of F9:
·        F9 key doesn’t have any function but it comes in use in some individual programs.



Uses of F10:
·         Pressing F10 key while system is booting will show you the BIOS information.
·        Shift + F10 works same as ‘Right Click’ in mouse.
·        F10 key used to enter the hidden recovering partition (only in Sony computers.)



Uses of F11:
·        F11 key will take you to ‘Full Screen’ mode and it can be used and work in any browser.



Uses of F12:
·        F12 key will open ‘Inspect element’ in any browser.
·        In MS Word, pressing F12 will show ‘Save As’.
·        Shift + F12 will save a document in MS Word.
·        Ctrl + Shift + F12 > Prints a document in MS Word.



Fn + F1-F12 keys will do the same task that is printed on the respective keys, this is basically for Laptop users.
